How it stores all this information is mind boggling. It does several things but I just mainly use it to determine the yardage to the flag. It gives three readings to the close, middle and far portions of the green as it works off GPS instead of sighting on the flag as a pro model range finder will do. This is plenty good for my club selection. And I really like the simplicity of the unit. Just turn it on and play. When you look at it it automatically tells you the three readings. No buttons to push or anything. I use it on silent mode as I don't want the noise on the course. While standing in same place, it they display different yardages, with an error of 2-3 yards. Also, 2 friends have had their batteries apparently go bad very soon (they have had to set it up online and "reset" it), with battery then lasting maybe for a round. The change-out of batteries appears to be sort of complicated.
