It really is plug n play
I bought this for my Raspberry pi 4 using Stella. It really works! It really is plug n play. First I tried paddles for Astroblast. It worked perfect. Just read the users manual that came with it. I also have an Atari 2600+ and used the the joystick that came with it. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, but I used a joystick from my Atari flashback 8, and the fire button won't work. I suggest getting real Atari joy sticks and paddles and you will have no problems. I love it.

Does not work with RetroGames THEC64
I was hoping I could use this to connect a real Atari stick to RetroGames® THEC64™ product, which only has USB inputs. Regrettably, it is not recognized as a gamepad, and I wasn’t able to make it work. Of course, nowhere in the product literature was it suggested that this would work, so I was just hoping. Alas, I’ll need to find some other solution.

Ensure that you understand how to configure input mappings on your chosen emulator!
I purchased this specifically to be used with Atari emulation using CX30 Paddles and CX40 Joysticks. The adapter works flawlessly on Altirra and Stella emulators once the input mappings are configured properly. I found it very easy to use and we are really enjoying it using the genuine Atari controllers!

Nothing plays Breakout like the original controllers
I have various retro collections for Windows and this adapter allowed me to use my old paddle controllers to play games like Breakout and Circus Atari. No modern controllers provide the same gameplay. Easy to set up. Just need to calibrate in the control panel. Only complaint is the case cracked open when attaching the cable. Was able to close again but it is delicate.
