Very solidly built and the feel like they should last decades. Perhaps more importantly they will do what they are designed to do, keep the stuff in your bag from going stale! The spring is strong enough to really lock down a good sized bag of chips, veggies, pet food, etc. I am very happy with this purchase and even bought a second set of red ones for variety!I should note that these can indeed hang a hook as a good storage option. The holes are over 1/2" diameter so they should fit on almost any reasonably sized hook.
