I just replaced my air filters and installed this product to ensure lasting quality. Probably easiest install ever. It's simple enough to figure out but if you don't install it perfectly and remove the red tape covers, you aren't getting it off.I opted to not use the tape, it seems to hold well enough without it, and I don't anticipate driving with the trunk up, so it should be fine. You can make that decision for yourself.The middle portion must be installed before the two side pieces. However, the middle piece has to be taped for it to stay. What I did was assemble it on a table, meaning I added the weather strip to it while it was off the car. You want the strip to have the flat portion towards the windshield and the nubbed end to be towards the front of the vehicle, it creates a much better seal that way. By installing the strip before mounting it to the car it helped hold the middle piece in place...ishIt does seem to keep the water out. Which will hopefully keep the water off the air filters.Installation was harder than it really needed to be, so hopefully my tips help yours go much smoother.I will add, that I did need to trim some of the weather seal. It's longer than the pieces that attach to the hood. I would much rather have too much than not enough.Finally, you will notice the weather stripping does not extend as far out to the ends of the hood. I don't anticipate this being a problem, but just FYI. This also lead to my decision to not use the adhesive.It's cheap enough that if it fails, I can always replace with another one, or even reinstall the OEM pieces that I removed to install this one.Side note: the second picture is of the portion of the weather stripping that I cut off. The flat end, which you want installed towards the windshield is leaned on the inside of the frunk. The nubbed side is the portion you want facing the front of the vehicle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars These should come standard on teslas *by N***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2024* This is what you need to rid your Tesla off that musty stale air smell. The design for the air intake is ridiculously bad. It has a vertical intake rather than a horizontal intake that is on almost every other car. So when it rains or even when you wash your car water runs down the intake and sucks right in to the cabin air filter. That results in the bad smell you get from the ac. This seals off the intake much better than the stock seal that’s included with the car.Instructions could be better but it isn’t rocket science to install it. Figuring out which way the rubber seal slides into the brackets is the most challenging part but it isn’t terribly difficult to figure out. There is plenty of double sides tape to make sure the seal isn’t going anywhere. Total install time is about 10-15 minutes. After you replace this seal definitely change tour air filters and even doing a coil cleaning wouldn’t be a terrible idea.
