Difficult to clean after use
This was an expensive item and it was no different to any other garlic press. In fact it was harder to clean than any I have had before. Not worth the money and I would advise against buying it.

Actually works
I have owned several different garlic presses (including some rather expensive brands). This is the best one by far. Don't have to press super hard, the garlic comes out really nicely, easy to clean, and lasts a long time. I had this exact one for 5+ years and use it on a near daily basis.

Garlic press not peeler
You need to peel the garlic first and it leaves the thin skin embedded in the press, which takes a bit of effort to remove.

Does an OUTSTANDING & FABULOUS job
I have published 11 photos of this in action......see them under the photo Amazon has of the press. NOTE.....THEY ARE IN "REVERSE" ORDER....SO to see it go step by step, start with the last photo and work your way to the first.Does a OUTSTANDING & FABULOUS job. This is the press I've been looking for. It DOES NOT MASH or SQUISH or destroy the garlic. It PRESSES IT THROUGH THE HOLES and it comes out as if it was riced. NOTHING comes up or out of the sides.Personally, I think you get more garlic if you peel it before you press it, as I did in the photos. At least, take the white paper skin off the clove and get it down to the more transparant skin. Better yet, get it down to the bare clove.Then just squeese and it rices through the holes beautifully. The garlic chamber is DEEP and quite LONG. I used a JUMBO CLOVE ( see photos) and had room to spare. Garlic cup Measures 1 1/4" deep and 1 1/2" wide.I think the key to this press are the fingers that grip the clove, hold it in place then push it through the holes. I'm amazed at the amount of garlic it expresses.FYI..... I'm a fan of Cake Boss and have been watching Buddy on his new daytime Kitchen Boss program. When I saw his garlic press and how it "riced" the garlic so easily and nicely I had to have it. Searched all over for any hint as to what he was using. Nothing. One day I Stopped the DVR while he was using his to study what it looked like. I immediately recognized the handles and shape of the press and those teeth as being a Calphalon. It's the BEST Garlic Press I've found and at $14.95 it's a real deal. If you prefer to use fresh garlic or are into Italian cooking......this baby is for you. Even if it breaks from heavy use ( looks like it's solidly built though) I can buy 2 of these for the price of 1 of the other's priced in the $30+ range.HINT FOR CLEANING........ take a tooth pick, slide it under the teeth and lift up on the. All the left over pulp instantly lifts off in one piece. You can toss it, it to your pan or add it to a bottle of Olive Oil to infuse a garlic flavor to your cooking / salad oil. The other handy tool I use to clean out the holes is either a hard bristled toothbrush or fingernail/hand brush. Works like a charm every time.

THIS IS THE BEST GARLIC CRUSHER I HAVE EVER HAD. HAVE GONE THRU MANY. WHAT IS THE BEST PART, IT DOESN'T KILL YOUR HAND TO SQUEEZE THE HANDLES.
