The item you mount screws into the siding and the block is held in place by the same screws... as the block is between the wall and object. **Q: Are these bright white color mounts paintable?** A: I bought two of a different design, but same material. Get some spray primer, like 123 Primer, and a good paint for outdoors. Scuff the surface with sandpaper, and prime. Let dry and do it again. Scuff then paint, scuff then paint.
