Yes, many of the math drills in this book are very basic when compared to the complex questions on standardized tests. However, these types of one-dimensional math problems, which usually focus on only one skill at a time, help provide the rote practice needed to build and strengthen the math fundamentals that first must be firmly in place in order for a student to then move onto higher-level math questions and concepts on a test such as the GRE or GMAT.I've been recommending this book to my students for years, but only now have gotten around to writing this review.
