I installed them in planters where they get lots of sun. At night, the base lights up pretty well but the rest of the hoop is fairly dim. They are three colors so that's as advertised but, as a fiber-optic look, they leave a bit to be desired. I'm going to have to examine them to see if I can improve them with a bit of aftermarket-engineering. I placed them outside and they worked great for a few weeks and were beautiful. Then they just started falling apart. The spikes broke, the connections from the solar unit to the wires came apart and this was with no touching or movement at all. The just don't last as they should in the weather. I would love to get more but don't want to pay again and have the same problem.
