Within design spec to capture data at 60sec intervals, though I was able to get reliable data down to 15sec intervals. A few tricks you need to follow:- DO NOT surpass the storage limit. The device is supposed to loop around and start writing over data from the t=0 data point, but I did not find this to be the case. The only reliable means is if you just make sure to download data before you pass the limit- After downloading data from the device, be sure to clear data from the device- If not going to record continuously, after you download, turn off the device after you clear the data. I had all sorts of problems when I let it continue to record, even without intention to save the newly recorded data. You will get a confirmation message after data reset.- After you turn the device back on, clear the data again and be sure to reset the logging timestamp. About 20% of the time, the data log timestamp does not reset properly - there is no confirmation message, so you will not know if it reset properly until you download data- After you download the data in CSV format, compare the timestamp of the export time with the last data point recorded. Often time they will not match up - calculate this delta, so that you can adjust the timestamp for each data point collected. About 50% of the time, the last timestamp matches the export time and no adjustment is needed... the other 50% you'll need to adjust every data point in the export ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars 50% *by B***L on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2021* Revised: I replaced the flat battery and the unit works as advertised (description below). Star added. First unit has been chugging along (>12,000 data points recorded). Bluetooth is strong enough that I can download the solar panel monitor from inside the house. Currently calibrating two units against an alcohol thermometer and a Fluke.Revised again. The troublesome second unit burns through batteries. Currently (9/21/21) on it's fourth battery. Connectivity fails at about 60% indicated battery life, but logging seems to continue and data is not lost when changing batteries. Sensor has been between 55F and 85F since received, so it's not a cold battery issue. First unit purchased at the same time is still chugging along on its original battery with 95% indicated battery life remaining.Two were purchased, and right out of the box, one doesn't work at all.No flashing LED, no Bluetooth connection. Muerto.I declined to buy a similar product at $11 because of frequently reported quality issues, so it is disappointing to pay the 3x premium and still get quality issues.I will be checking the battery (requires a very small #00 Philips screwdriver), then considering a return.I am also considering purchasing the $65-$75 alternative from the company that has been making small waterproof data loggers for decades.The other one is working fine. Yes it takes a little time to equilibrate with ambient temperature, that's normal and expected. Precision appears to be 0.1-0.2 degrees F and there's a calibration to fix accuracy. The app is easy enough to run and does what I expected for a handheld. The CVS export (via email) seems to have a non-standard date format and adds a blank line between each data record which, although annoying, is still functional. Try =value(MID(B5,5,6) & "," & MID(B5,11,11)) and format the number for date/time. Product came in nice, handy, protective packaging. Would have been 4+ stars if this was the only one I got. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very small and reliable!! *by W***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2021* I use these wonderful tiny sensors to monitor conditions in our Airstream trailer and its Dometic RV refrigerator. This red one is for temperature only, so we use it in the refrigerator... I usually place it in one of the door trays so I know the temperature of the warmest part. By using this sensor I’ve been able to discover which parts of the refrigerator stay the coldest, and I can see how different situations, such as having the sun hitting the outside of the trailer, or running on electric or propane, can affect the temperatures. The Dometic has no built in thermometer, and it has a very rudimentary temperature control system, so this Tempo disc has been an incredible tool to learn what we need to do for optimal food safety. When we’re traveling, I pull a reading in the app on my iPhone a couple times a day. When we store the trailer we’ve learned from this sensor that we need to power on the refrigerator three days before a trip for it to reach a safe temperature. Lately we’ve been using the trailer every weekend, so we leave the refrigerator on. You can see a picture of our sensor log that I uploaded here. The two Tempos we have have been in operation now for three months without a glitch. We love this so much that we’re getting more to monitor microclimates on a remote property so we can make decisions about planting... we’re making little birdhouse-like “stations” to protect them from rain, since all but one of the temperature-only sensors are not waterproof, so need their humidity and barometric sensors exposed through little air vents to work.
