Being a mid-entry steel, the AUS 8 is an excellent SS combination for your knife... with normal maintenance, it has the right toughness, hardness, edge retention, wear resistance and corrosion resistance to serve for a very long time. The sheath fits well, however, REMOVE THE BLADE'S TIP GUARD before inserting the blade! I discovered that myself, and the blade tip guard is now tightly residing in the bottom of the sheath. I also discovered that, if your belt is over 1.75" in height, you (as am I, with my 2"high gun belt) will be disappointed in the sheaths belt clip.
