The serrated paring knife is excellent when working with small to medium size potatoes. It cuts through them cleanly & easily. The 4.5" knife is excellent for cutting bread & homemade rolls. The straight edge paring knife is excellent for coring apples or peeling fruit or vegetables of any type. I do highly recommend wearing a cut-resistant glove, as these knives are very sharp. Also, for added safety, we paired these with 4.5" pink Ergo Chef knife guard. This will protect the knife edge & also your fingers! All in all, an excellent purchase.
