It seems you may be able to remove magnifier/ light. It has a plastic feed nut that turns a bit but feels like may break if forced. It would be nice to remove to take up less space to store ### ⭐⭐ Meh *by B***N on August 19, 2019* It's very cheaply made and the light/magnifier was installed backwards. You have to disassemble the base of the light in order to turn it around. The battery tray is connected with very thin wire that is barely soldered on: I see this snapping of quite easily. The whole thing is just poorly made... but for $20 it does its job. I've seen MUCH better soldering stations for half this price. Save your money or spend a couple extra bucks to get a 6 arm station instead. I'll be giving this one to my son to let him practice on... assuming it doesn't fall apart too soon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works nice. *by J***Y on April 23, 2019* This has a sturdy metal base, the light ring works and you can use either AA batteries or plug it in. The magnifying glass works well and is very usable (old eyes here). The single flex holder works good but the two fixed holders are a little harder to use. I would have preferred to have 3 flex holders. The soldering iron holder works and there are two indented area's on the base to hold parts.
