An essential for gourmet and paleo cooking
Duck fat is an underappreciated cooking fat. Most people tend to shy away from animal fats when cooking, but due to a good balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and a low glycemic load, duck fat is surprisingly not bad for you. When compared to other cooking oils like peanut or canola oils, duck fat is a much healthier option. You can use it for every day cooking - just as you would use butter or any other oil. An added bonus is the uniquely savory but not at all overpowering flavor that this adds to any dish. The fat is surprisingly stable and will last you a good 6 months or more in the refrigerator, plus as an added perk, you can drain it off from whatever you were cooking and reuse it! If you do plan to reuse it though, I recommend straining it through cheesecloth first to remove any particles of meat or other foods. That will help the fat keep longer and prevent it from going rancid. I keep a jar of it around for cooking at all times, and it's my go-to when I need a low simmer or sautee, and especially for a long roast. My favorite application for duck fat is confit, and having an extra few ounces of this lying around is immensely helpful to fill out the dish and ensure that whatever you're cooking is completely submerged for optimal cooking. While some may be put off by the price, remember you can reuse it, and it's much healthier than a lot of cooking oils.

Great packaging
This was packed extremely well. Lots of reviews showed breakage and some did not have any packaging at all, just flopping around in box, Also glad I found a seller that offered just one instead of two. Great job ! Taste good too.

YES... DUCK FAT!
Just ordered this product (3 jars, in fact) from Marky's Caviar. Shipping was immediate (though costly) and all jars were fully protected by bubble-wrap AND additional inner-packaging. Arrived in perfect condition. I was turned on to duck fat by a poster on a forum. She lives in Australia, and this is the brand she buys. It is so flavorful! I've never had anything like it! It is unique, but not overpowering. It enhances whatever you cook in it. Although I am eating low-carb these days and won't fry potatoes in it (but I can imagine that!), I have fried chicken eggs, used the duck fat as a basis for green chili made with ground turkey, sauteed asparagus in it--and many other items. My next venture: saute rapini/broccoli rabe in duck fat and garlic. I've had delicious results every time! After the flavor, I am particularly pleased with the appearance and quality of this product. Five stars! My Australian friend told me to save the drippings from any cooking with duck fat in a fresh, clean jar. One way to make it stretch. I am doing that, and am straining those drippings.

Perfect for frying hash browns
Use it to fry my hash browns for Sunday breakfast. Tastes better than anything else including beef tallow and ghee.

No gamey taste like others I have tried.
Pleasant and came quickly and well wrapped. The product itself is lovely, no after taste or unpleasant smell like others have mentioned? I liked how rapidly it melted and didn't smoke on higher heats. I didn't find it gave more flavor to my food though? Perhaps it tasted a little richer in the mouth, but the flavors pretty much stayed the same. So if your worry is that it may change the taste of your food or add a gamey taste, no worries here. I like the crispiness of my smashed potatoes and the creamy taste of my eggs in the morning.
