Review: The Blueprint for How to Win with Money Today - I come from the Dave Ramsey world (actually a 2nd generation with the baby steps). I'm 28, married with 2 young kids, and always considered myself okay with money. I made some dumb mistakes a time or two, but always filtered back to Dave's advice and mostly stayed out of debt with an emergency fund. The issue I always ran into though was what to do beyond baby step 3. Sure, Dave's advice is to start investing 15% into 4 funds and then start paying off your house, but for me... this didn't make the most mathematical sense. I am an optimizer, and I wanted to know more. Why those 4 actively managed funds? Why not use credit cards to my advantage? Why pay off my low interest mortgage so soon? Why can't I upgrade to a nicer home for my growing family with a 30yr if the interest rate was low and monthly payment under 25% of gross? None of this is to bash Dave's advice whatsoever, but is just to give context as to why I went looking for something different - something more detail-oriented and maximized the most of each dollar coming into my possession. Enter The Money Guy - I stumbled across the 9-step FOO a couple of years ago at 25 years old. At this point, at nearly 29, I can now say I'm a product of the FOO and a testament to its success. My wife and I entered Step 7 this year, and we are so beyond the curve that even at 28 my peers ask me how we do it. We invest nearly 25% of our income, are able to give generously, and take advantage of opportunities that cross our paths without much hesitation. We live within our means and have started watching our net worth soar higher and higher. As of now, the only missing ingredient at our age is time to let it sit and work its magic. Our Army of Dollars has barely started gaining traction, but we are already starting to see it bear fruit. Millionaire Mission is the blueprint of this success. I love The Money Guy Show, and I watch it regularly. I've also bought the Know Your Number course and the Net Worth tool - I cannot recommend them enough. HOWEVER, the absolute best entrypoint into this absolute wealth of wisdom-laden content is this book in front of you. It will outline the 9-step plan of an optimizer's journey through wealth and it does a fantastic job at putting a value on opportunity cost with decisions made at various points along the way. It is the definitive blueprint to how I personally have done money for a few years now, and I can attest to its success personally. I will be buying copies for my friends and relatives. Now when people ask me how my wife and I do it, I have a resource I can point them to directly. If you want to know how to make the most of your money, I beg you to start here - you won't regret it - just remember it takes time. I pre-ordered this book, received it on launch day, and finished it cover to cover by bed time same day. It's a fairly easy read with charts and visuals that back up words with math. It is an absolute love letter from The Money Guy to the audience, the show, and everything TMG has been building for years. I am proud to be a product of its success and only look forward to what's coming next. Thanks TMG for literally changing the trajectory of my family's life. Review from a Finance Nerd
This book is essentially an improved and more detailed version of โThe Total Money Makeoverโ by Dave Ramsey, written by a qualified financial professional (CPA and CFP). Iโve read quite a few personal finance and investing books over the past few years and am currently in graduate school for personal financial planning while studying for the CFP. I hope my opinions in this review hold some weight given my fairly strong background in the subject matter and my passion for financial literacy. For some additional context, Iโve listened to The Money Guy Show on YouTube for nearly 4 years now, and it has been a major inspiration in my life to go into financial planning. When I heard Brian was writing a book, I decided to preorder. In addition, I listened to the audiobook while I followed along in the physical copy. Beginning with the financial content and merit of the advice: itโs excellent. The FOO is meticulously detailed and designed. It takes Dave Ramseyโs Baby Steps and adds nuance to each step while making noticeable improvements to the order of financial operations. Itโs a very beginner-friendly book, focusing more on actionable steps and less on the complexities of investing and complex financial planning. Everything is presented in a manner where beginners and even more savvy financial enthusiasts can benefit from its wisdom. As a longtime viewer of the show, I expected to already know most of the content in the book. I was correct in my assumptions, but I still enjoyed reviewing the fundamentals while appreciating the real-world examples Brian includes in each chapter. The chapters I enjoyed the most were the chapters near the end, where the author focuses more on the โwhyโ of personal finance and the meaning and purpose behind building wealth. Building wealth isnโt necessarily about being โrich,โ but more so about having the freedom to live your life on your terms and having the resources to help others do the same. Lastly, my favorite chapter is the final one, where the author discloses what he does with his own money. Iโm a very nosy person and nerd out on personal finance, so Iโm always curious what financial professionals do with their own money. Without spoiling too much, I can say I agree with his financial plan and I personally have a very similar setup (albeit with significantly less income, savings, etc.). Overall, I highly recommend this book. If most adults could simply get to steps 4-5, they would be far better off with their finances. Itโs going on my bookshelf next to other great finance books like The Psychology of Money, A Random Walk Down Wall Street, and The Bogleheadsโ Guide to Investing.

Digestible, motivating read that will change your finances
I suggest that anyone who wants to finally understand their finances and get organized read this book. The FOO, the author's nine-step process to get your money right, is simple and achievable. I discovered Brian Preston and Bo Hanson five years ago, when I was laid off. My mother was watching the Money Guy Show, and even though I was out of work, I felt like all the things Brian and Bo taught gave me financial clarity -- and honestly a lot of hope. I knew when I got a job again that I would begin to put the FOO to work. And that is what I have been doing for five years. Since then, I have nearly 5x my net worth, nearly tripled my income and gained a confidence about my personal finances that I never had. And I have shared their teachings with so many others -- teaching kids in high school classes and Gen Z friends on Zoom calls. My fiance says that I saved his financial life. LOL. But honestly, I simply shared what Brian and Bo taught me (and several other educators and influencers, like Jack Bogle, Ramit Sethi, Rose Han, my mom and too many others to name.) This book captures everything I learned from these men in one simple read. Genuinely, I am grateful for your gift of teaching and willingness to share. You'd be surprised how so many people hoard knowledge. Not these guys! This was a fun read, and I look forward to watching the Money Guy Show on Tuesdays at 10am Central. Money Guy Mutant, out.

A Must Read for Personal Finance
Brian - you say you still read all the reviews, and I truly hope you do. Just wanted to say thank you for blessing us with your knowledge and content. This book provides the ultimate roadmap and has completely changed the course for my family. From humble beginnings I knew I wanted to do better with money but didnโt know how. This book filled that gap and showed me the way. Forever grateful.

Sets you up for success
Tons of usable information here to build a better future for yourself if you're willing to do the work. I like that the Appendix includes all of the referenced worksheets. I chose this book because it is one of few that provides solid information and includes giving as a necessary aspect. The paper is a bit thin but that's fine. The book is affordable. I ordered 10 for my company and we will be reading/working through the plan as a group next year.

Good Beginner Book
There is a lot of good information in this book and it is worth buying/reading. My only criticism is I wish there was more discussion directed to specific portfolio allocations for index funds eg. international, domestic, small mid large cap etc. - beyond simple target date funds.

Good book, good graduation gift
I watch the Money guy on YouTube and ordered this book, from my local library as a good financial mutant. My niece is graduating high school and I wanted a little something to go with her cash I planned to give her and thought this would be the perfect touch. Hopefully she reads it and gets as much as I did from it. I found the book very easy to follow and inspiring. In a world full of negativity about inflation, student loans, house prices it clearly laid out how to still be financially responsible, as you enjoy life on the way to financial freedom.

An easy read that I wish I would have had 10 years ago
The 9 step process is so straight forward that I wish I would have had this when I started my career. Certainly worth the cost.

A must have for your future self!
A truly brilliant book! Iโm based in the U.K. and although not everything is applicable (free healthcare here!) itโs an incredible tool for any stage of your financial journey. The best bit about Brian and The Money Guy Show is that everything they discuss is backed by experience and numbers (and in their cases a hell of a lot of qualification). If you want that Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow then this book is a must have

Great book
This was a pleasant and informational read. Parts of it aren't really relevant for those of us that don't live in the States, but that doesn't diminish the great tips in this book and it only makes up a small part of this book and there's likely uk equivalents of those products. Overall, I feel excited to get my finances in order, and the FOO is simple and easy to understand.

What a great book, highly recommend!
I really enjoy the money guy show and bought this book to support them. I did not expect the book to be incredibly thoughtful, insightful, motivating and at the same time without being condescending. I truly enjoyed it and definitely will re-read it!
