His Dad is very pleased with the product and I will have to inquire about the sound of the alarm. **Q: how is this different than the upgraded and more expensive model?** A: Hi - There is not a difference in the Teach Me Time clocks listed. One has frustration-free packaging and the other does not. The Teach Me Time clock's backlighting does not shut off and the Ok To Wake clock back-lighting shuts off after two hours. **Q: Are there different alarm times for weekends?** A: Not that we have been able to set. We don't use the alarms but we do use the light feature. I have to switch the times for it to turn on in the morning on the weekend if I want my child to sleep later. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ Rather good *by D***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 November 2015* These are the problems with this clock:* It won't work without AC power adapter. AA batteries are only used to save the time between reconnection to the power adapter. You won't see the time on the display, see the clock changing color or whatever.* The power cord is rather short. I had to get additional lead to place it where it should be.* The highlight of the time display is always on. You can change the brightness level from normal to high, but even then it works as the night light, which wasn't my intention at all.* It has the voice function, but it sounds like samples were recorded at the lowest quality possible, and it sounds rather scary.* Although the display supports 24h time mode, I didn't see any mention of it in the user manual or any way to set the time in 24h mode, so it shows the AM/PM sign instead, which isn't natural for me.Still, what was needed for me is the clock that could change color from 8AM to 9AM and signal that it's OK to wake up others during this time, and this time only. And it works.Does it worth GBP 49? No one is allowed out until the light changes to green, the only reason it's not 5 stars is because the lead comes out easily which means you have to reset the time and the light to change when you've decided the children can get out of bed and also when you use batteries the light doesn't change at all which kind of defeats the purpose. This clock is WAY WAY better.I love the fact we can set it to come yellow when it is OK to be awake and play in his room and then green when it is OK to come into us.
