While not metal, they use a quality ABS plastic with deep attractive molded in color and sturdy hinge/construction. Fit perfectly, air seals nicely on top when top vent closed and front mounted airflow is deployed.

I have long curtains that puddle on the floor, sometimes blocking the vent. I ordered these and problem solved. Don't listen to some of the negative reviews stating that these don't work for vents in front of windows. Whoever wrote those didn't properly install the vent cover. There is a slot on the top that can close if you want to use the vent pointed to the side. It is perfect for my needs. I also put one over event that has a bench sitting on top. The air flow is much better now.

They work well but they're light plastic so if there's a lot of airflow you'll need to weight or stick them down so they don't float up

I am using these for ceiling vents. I had to make holes for screws to mount in ceilings, but that was easy. The vents look great, they are made of plastic, but to be a air tight as they are, they need to be. As I mentioned, they are being used as ceiling vents. I can close the vent and no, I mean no air comes through. I can open it and have normal downward air flow, I can close it, and pull the vent down and have a directional vent with full air flow, and if I open the originally downward facing vent, I get bi-directional half-air flow. It really is a smart way to manipulate air flow in a home, especially one with a basement, that doesn't need to be as cooling the summer, yet needs more heat in the winter. I would buy again if needed.

Work perfectly under my bedside tables to direct heat into the bedroom. The magnets are strong and hold when hit with the vacuum.

I purchased 4 sets of these so I have 8 vents in total. I have had these through the winter and summer of 2024 While the concept and functionality are fantastic the material quality is absolutely terrible, especially if you have a playful dog. Positives : to be able to flip up the diverging vent to push warm air across the floor in the winter and push down the vent in the summer to allow cold air to circulate. Without the need for those magnetic deflectors. They do look nice Functionality is great Saves heating bill Negative: durability is terrible the material is just thin plastic unfortunately I have had to take 5 of the 8 vents apart and plastic weld the seams because the connection tabs broke that hold the pull up grate on. If you have playful dogs in the house and they step on one slamming the deflection vent closed it’s almost guaranteed to break a tab for the pull up vent. However in the normal ( flat ) position I will say they are very strong. All in all I would gladly pay double if these were madly out of a stronger and thicker plastic or metal. However if you utilize the deflection vent in the winter to push warm air across the floor I did decrease my propane usage last winter so it does work. I’m giving this 3 stars because there’s much room for improvement as far as build quality goes. Do yourself a favor right from the start before you even install these buy some plastic weld and hit up the seams and tabs. The ones I did I haven’t had an issue with since. It just sucks you have to buy another product to fix the faults in this product.

We like these vent covers better than the metal ones, they look nice and easy to install. We have replaced all 15 covers throughout the house with these. These are the last 2 that needed replacing as we are doing to home improvements and moved the vanities to access the vents Occasionally I will find the inside piece has come loose from the vent and need to snap it back in place. I do feel they are a bit pricey

These work well for what I intended — redirecting the airflow. However, they aren’t the easiest to open; you have to hold the top down while opening the other part. The material also feels pretty cheap. If you accidentally stepped on one, you’d likely fall through it compared to metal vent covers. Also, if you have small kids, they can easily pull them off the vent.

Are what I expected, and are perfect!!

Cheap and flimsy plastic but it works. Wouldn't try standing or putting weight on it.
