Review: Works great on Rotopax with some modding - Works great on the Rotopax. As other reviewers have said. Cut off the “wings”. Slip the Rotopax gasket washer over the spigot part that goes up next to the tank. Boil the spigot to make plastic soft. Slip the red part out of spigot. Slide the Rotopax lid over the spigot part. It will contort the plastic a bit. Slip the red part back in. Place back in boiling water for a few seconds. Then place immediately in ice water to “seal up” things. Easy peasy. $28 saved. No leaks on mine.
Review: Great fit for rotopax with a little work - Bought it to fit a rotopax water jug and it works great. Cutting the wings, warming it in boiling water then fitting it through the cap, and using the white o-ring to seal. It doesn’t leak but I’m not sure if I’d trust it to hold my critical water supply on long rocky trails so I keep it in upright position for travel. Found a cheap plastic toothbrush keeper to act as a dust cover as well.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the outer diameter of the spigot opening?**
A: Red end is .86 inch ( 22mm) The threaded ( opaque ) end is a tapered 1 inch (25.6mm )

**Q: How do you install this on an hd5 5 gallon water jug? the lid has a hole about the right size, but there are no threads, it won't hold.**
A: I bought two of the 5-gallon Hedpack jugs, plus one of these spigots, from Midwest Brewing and Wine-making Supplies. To allow installation of the spigot on one jug, I used an ice pick to make a small hole in the plastic piece that plugs the large fill cap. Then I used a 1-inch spade bit to drill out the plug and tightly screwed the spigot into the cap threads. I also used the ice pick to make a small hole in the threaded air relief. I then half-filled the jug with water, tightly screwed both caps on, and laid the jug on its side. There were no leaks. I went on to make the mods in the second jug, but have not run a second leak test with the same spigot.

**Q: How does the venting work? Does the tube somehow allow air to flow into the bottle when the spigot is opened as liquid comes out?**
A: You are correct. Works well.

**Q: I bought this to go with my 5 gallon Hedpack water jug, was this a waste of my money or did i get the wrong part?**
A: They worked great on my 5 gallon jugs.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great!

The hardest part was drilling a hole in the big cap on the bottle. There is a little area on the bottle I can drill an air hole, and it comes with a little cap to keep it sealed. I have found as the water comes out, they designed a way for air to go back into the bottle from the faucet. Drilling the small hole in the bottle helps the water come out faster, but not that much different for my purposes. Now this isn't the faucet's fault, but I have noticed I need to carefully screw the cover on the bottle, otherwise it will leak. I've had it screwed on and although it felt like it was on correctly, it was leaking and I saw it wasn't screwed in right. I do have to use both hands to get the seal right. There is no leakage from the faucet. I only bought one faucet, but I use it on two bottles. Maybe the cover isn't the same on both, but I have more trouble keeping the second bottle from leaking. If it leaking, I just keep tightening the cover, and it eventually stops.
