This was never mentioned in the description. My lines are underground with the pump on the left and would require a plumbing rework. My only option was to drill new holes in the base and not use any of the predrilled holes. I see no reason why the base can not be made for the pump to be on either side. Spraying foam insulation inside the base does reduce the noise. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Noisy *by G***P on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2017* This base does make our equipment look much neater and takes up less space than our old arrangement, which I like. But, the base is hollow, so it amplifies the noise from the pump and filter. We filled the base with spray foam insulation to try to muffle the noise, and it worked better than without.
