With a 4.8-star rating from 260 reviews, this book is a must-have for art and nature enthusiasts seeking both inspiration and exquisite craftsmanship. ## Description The artist Angie Lewin has a unique vision of the natural world. Her hugely popular prints depict in intricate detail the native flora of a variety of environments, from salt marsh and Highland loch, to flower-strewn meadow and wild garden. Lewin finds beauty in each landscape, whatever the season, and is particularly inspired by plant forms: slender reeds, stately goatsbeard, spiky teasels and sculptural seed heads. 'Plants and Places' presents over 70 of Lewin's beautifully crafted linocuts and wood engravings. The works are grouped according to habitat such as coast, woodland and hedgerow, and garden together with drawings, paintings and collages from Lewin's sketchbooks of grasses, seed pods, seaweed, shells and other objects that she has collected on her walks. In an engaging introduction, Leslie Geddes-Brown meets Lewin in her studio, discusses her artistic inspirations and her fascination with plants, and describes how she creates her prints. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Dimensions | 24.77 x 2.54 x 25.4 cm | | Isbn 10 | 1858945364 | | Isbn 13 | 978-1858945361 | | Item Weight | 1.18 kg | | Language | English | | Print Length | 192 pages | | Publication Date | 1 Oct. 2010 | | Publisher | Merrell Publishers Ltd | ## Images ![Angie Lewin: Plants and Places - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81iLqcIshvL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent book and good delivery service *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 23 June 2025* Really pleased with purchase and was even better than described. In very good condition, looked new and delivered quickly with royal mail tracking info provided by World of Books, the seller. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely gift for art/nature lovers *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 26 May 2011* This is a seductive book, providing a fascinating insight into the world of a very talented printmaker and artist. The chapters are divided into "coast", "woodland and hedgerow", "river and loch", "meadow and garden" and "studio". Each chapter opens with some beautiful photography and text detailing the background to the locations for Lewin's art as well as interesting personal details "..we accidentally found a derelict croft on the side of a hill looking out on to Ben Rinnes and later bought it.....the views are truly wonderful and ever changing"... The illustrations throughout are utterly beautiful, I can happily sit with a cup of coffee and browse through the pages for hours. What is very special is to follow the artist from inspirational pebble, seedhead or wildflower via sensitively rendered, delicate notebook drawings to finely detailed and skillfully produced print or fabric. Completely absorbing and deeply inspirational. Highly recommended. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful book *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 May 2024* Bought for a dear friend. I did have a good look through myself though and it was a delight from one page to the next. She loved it too. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.uk/products/56819690-angie-lewin-plants-and-places](https://www.desertcart.co.uk/products/56819690-angie-lewin-plants-and-places) --- *Product available on Desertcart United Kingdom* *Store origin: GB* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
