Don't buy it for firearm use, maybe it's for an airgun Review: Great Idea - so so product - I don't write a lot of these reviews but this is an expensive little gadget and it had no reviews so, here's the deal.. The quick release gizmo for the picatinny mount is nice, it attaches easily and makes a nice, solid connection. The fit and finish looks a little cheap, between the clamp and the body of the mount, but I think it will be ok. The real problem is with the flashlight holder.. I have three different tactical lights, an old rubber coated streamlight scorpion, a cyclops, and a 700 lumen SG (guidegear).. They all take 2-Dl123 batteries, more or less standard tactical lights. This mount doesn't really fit any of them. The SG light will work if you take off the end, insert it into the mount and reattach the end cap. They designed the flashlight holder to also act as a quick release, so you can pull the flash light off the weapon and leave the mount, or grab the mount and all and move it to a different weapon.. This feature is useless with the only light I have that fits because you have to take the light apart to make it fit. In my opinion they should have quick while they were ahead and designed the flash light clamp to be a (more or less) permanent strap mount of some kind. It could be much smaller and more ergonomic, and bit less expensive. The fix I made was to drill and tap a couple allen head keeper screws into the top so you can secure the flashlight. It is pretty good with my larger bodied light, but definitely a pretty bad compromise for the other lights. If your light isn't a full 1-inch OD body tube, you will not be totally happy with this. It clamps on any rail in a second. Stays on like it's glued and removes as easily. Fits in your pocket. Move it from an AR to a glock in about a second. No wonder this is issued to our military. Works best with a Novatac light.
