Rcbs are a reset able fuse to protect your wiring so if your breaker are tripping you have a fault if its the your plug side start thinking what you are plugging in when it trip's or is it only one one socket As it could be appliances on sockets or a problem with a socket hope this helps **Q: Can these be used to lock mcb in on position, where supply is for fire panel for instance? thanks** A: MCBs must NEVER be locked in the ON position. They are a safety device for detecting overcurrent faults and are there to break the supply safely. If you fit any device which prevents the MCB turning off then the downstream wiring could overheat during a fault condition and this may actually cause a fire.
