GreenClean Pro Granular Algaecide, 50 lbs

I have had past issues with algae and algae bloom in my ¾ acre pond. This year I wanted something safe for my fish including my Grass Carp. Objective: get on top of the algae and bloom early! Aeration, pond dye and hydrated lime alone has not been effective. I bought a 50lb. bag of GreenClean Pro and spot treated along with aeration. Within 10 days after I felt confident in this product. I used the 50lbs. completely around my pond and in all shallow areas. I knew that I could not get 100% of the pond by hand. I used a boat to make sure I could get the shallow areas of my pond. I also treated the stream feeding my pond. After 2 weeks I have seen very little algae. I have just received my 2nd bag for 2nd application if needed. Once applied you can witness within 5 minutes the working action. The algae releases and surfaces. Within 3-5 days, algae that has not discharged out the spillway is now brown and dead. I have never witnessed a product work this well. My fish are hungry and healthy!

Have used the product for years. it usually comes in a 'tub' instead of a bag. Bag is a little more difficult to work with. It is a very effective 'oxidizer' for algae, especially string algae. Fast acting. Have to remove the dead algae a few hours after application otherwise it sinks to the bottom of the pond and is nutrient for further algae and weed growth. Doesn't affect any other weeds and is safe for irrigation.

This was the only product that has worked for me after trying for two seasons to correct the algae in my pond. One full bag was able to clear 50,000 gallons. The negative is that I had to buy two additional bags to maintain the quality of the water which is expensive

We have used this product for several years and have been more than happy with the results we see in our pond. That being said, we’ve had delivery issues every year. Either the product never even makes it to us or it dies but is leaking. We return and reorder every time. The package needs a serious upgrade.

The product seemed to work pretty well but the bag had a hole in the bottom of it where it was incorrectly sealed and granules spilled all over my house and lawn. I notified the company and they said they had "fixed" the problems with their bag adhesives and did nothing to compensate me for my (very expensive!) loss. This bummed me out. They wanted me to try to get Amazon to pay for a "damaged in shipping" claim when clearly the fault was theirs, and also recommended that their 50lb plastic pails "hold up better in shipping". (?!) If they had responded more professionally I would have used this product again. I liked that it seemed more environmentally sound than other options, despite its high cost. Since admitting there had been previous bag adhesive issues, why wouldn't they have just sent me a coupon or something? Ridiculous. The hole(s) look small when photographed, but I assure you the expensive granules are even smaller; they were EVERYWHERE!

Did not see much changed with surface algea. Says that one bag is good for an acre, but my 1/16 acre pond still looks nasty
