It's designed to pull the sheet, so they're meant to fall short.Once you attach them to the mattress and flip it over, it sorts itself out. It needs to be tight, otherwise the sheet will just move around regardless.This has been such a sanity saver for me. Regardless of having a fitted sheet, it always came off of the corners and often wake me up because I'd either have a limb entangled like it was trying to eat me in my sleep, or because of the texture of the mattress itself.I can highly recommend this product.
