If testing I would tell you to buy both the Light Gauge and True Medium set. They are very similar, but the difference is the gauge of the 1st, 2nd and 6th strings. I'll attach a chart so you can see what I'm talking about. The straight light gauge can get very bright as a lot of Taylor guitars are, but the low E is responsible for a lot of the resonance of the guitar and the .054 low E (light gauge) provides that, while the .056 of the True medium accentuates the fundamental, but I lost harmonics and volume. What I ended up with was a hybrid set starting with the Light gauge and then changing out the 1st and 2nd strings to .013 and .017 (again, refer to the chart). Alternately you can buy a True medium set and purchase the .054 low E of the light gauge as a single string to accomplish the same thing. I'm not sure if Amazon carries the single strings, but they are available.
