They are made from a tough nylon. Excellent hinges and very tight. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Two Settings: Stiff and Stiffer *by T***N on November 3, 2024* As it ships, these hinges are extremely stiff, to the point you must exert a bit of force with both hands to open them. By loosening the screw almost to the point of removal, they go from extremely stiff to merely stiff, where you don't have the hinges' sharp edges dig into your fingertips to open them. At no point are they free-swinging normal hinges. During opening and closing, they feel "gritty," as if the axel was rough and unfinished.
