I did get a scare; the AMAZON box had one end crushed and half the tape was torn open, but the hat-in-a-plastic-bag inside was undamaged. This fine hat fit me right, right out of the box, couldn't have fit better if I'd tried it on in a store. I did play with the stiff brim wire a little bit, to flatten the brim out and widen it some, and I notice the outer band is glued on a little bit off center. But other than that I have no complaints and nothing but compliments for the maker and seller of this hat. I'm wearing the hat at my desk right now -- there's nobody around to laught at me for that, and it keeps the overhead light out of my eyes! Long ago I asked a friend, "Do these guys think their baseball caps make them look smarter?" He reminded me that my $160 Stetson didn't do that for me, either. But I wore that hat on doctor's orders, to reduce risk of skin cancer. And I know this Sidewinder hat will serve the same purpose, and will have other men telling me "Nice hat!" as I walk through stores, etc. Assuming the hat holds up for as long as I need it (I'm 82; who knows?), I call it a good deal -- actually a bargain at $47.
