Now that the warmer times are back upon us, however, I came back to this ancestral soap, and I have no regrets about my decision. The bars are slightly smaller than an average bar of Irish Spring. As Ruth notes in her book, the smell is not for everyone, a slight "hospital" anti-septic smell to it, but after you rinse off, you smell like you! It has a pleasant scent and lathers well also. Furthermore, it is relatively inexpensive! I didn't give it 5 stars because I have only gone through about half the first bar and have not gotten a chance to be sure of its effectiveness.
