Does the artex turn into paste or needs to be scraped??** A: Cling films helps as it stops the product from drying out, it turns the artex into a paste/gel . Suggest trying a small area first so you can determine the best process to suit you. **Q: How long do I leave it on before removing the artex** A: I am NOT a DiY expert, but tried it on patches of two different types of artex and found it depended upon the state of the artex, so it's a bit of trial and error. I used any old clear polythene to ake squares to press onto the durostrip after applying it , to keep it moist. found if I left it overnight it became harder to work on than if I left it only, say, 2 hours, but on some weak ceiling artex I left it only 1 hour. I read the helpful hints given by the reviews, such as to apply it as thickly as possible. As a newbie, I can add only to get everything ready, including a tray to collect the rubbery artex as you scrape, and a dish to scrape off the messy brush you use to apply the durostrip, so you or else your brush will take loose muck into the durostrip pot. **Q: Hi does this work on poly ripple thanks** A: Yes, but is extremely slow and messy to do. Found out after stripping that professional plasterers can go over rippled artex so saved ourselves the job and paid a plasterer. **Q: how much will it cover** A: Hi as a rough guide you should get an average application coverage for about 2-3 square metres from a 500g pot. However this does not take into account the difference in thickness that you will find with different applications of artex. If you have very thick patches of artex you may need to reapply to completely remove it from the surface. If you have any further questions please just ask. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works but is hard work! *by S***H on 28 June 2021* We purchased this to remove artex in the kitchen, which covered the best part of three of the walls. The product does work, but that doesn't mean it makes the task easy. We quickly regretted taking on the task, but are pleased when we managed to complete it.After leaving the product on for 24 hours we found it was still quite difficult to scrape off the artex. After 48 hours it was a bit easier. We generously applied to the walls and waited whilst it soaked in. It's quite a strong smell, so best if you can keep windows open as much as possible.Covering the floor is a must - covered in the gel, the artex comes off in a sticky mess and it's a lot easier to tidy up if you first lay paper down, however be prepared to get your feet stuck to the paper if you accidently tread in it!Maybe due to our lack of skill, we found we made lots of little divots in the wall and once we finally completed the removal we had to skim them to make good.A sharp scraper with spare blades really helps with the task.It took us about three evenings worth of work to get the small room completed. If I had to do it again I'd hire someone to tackle the job as there was a lot of mess and the task resulted in profanities and tears at times , however the product itself does warn that it's a difficult task.In summary, the product does as it advertises to do, but be prepared for hard work, mess and a bit of a stink! ### ⭐ Awful *by M***R on 19 February 2020* Tried using this to remove artex. It turned the paint rock hard so couldn't even get the scraper to work. Ended up using a steamer to soften the artex, which then turned to glue. Nightmare to remove so resorted to another product supposedly suitable for removing artex which, also wasn't as good as described.
