Does this work only with adhesive or has pins or corkscrews? Can I take off and stick back on?

It does have adhesive and corkscrew pins. You can peel and reattach. The adhesive sucks though so expect to use the pins. I doubt the adhesive would hold up for more than 3 days without an animal scratching at it.

Has anyone used on leather? If peeled off does it damage?

Yes it will stick to leather, and no it doesn't damage leather if it's peeled off.

My dog occasionally pees on the corner of the couch. Would this work as a "pee shield" and be easy to wipe off?

I bought this for my cat. But I would say yes it would. Easy to wipe off and thick. Just make sure when you put it in the couch to make sure it is tight. Hope this help

Can you recommend a product that is safe for leather

Not recommended for leather, just inserting the thumb tacks that come with will put a tear on your leather. I wouldn't know of a product that can protect leather than a large quilt if you have pets. Sorry! You find something if you do some searching on Amazon, they have everything for everything.
