Safety Relief Valve With 3/4 Inch Thread 30 PSI ASME Hot Water (30 PSI)

So when my boiler system started leaking out of this particular valve, I was of course in the market for a new one. I never knew there were so many different manufacturers of the same item to choose from. Holy crap. On the bright side however my father-in-law has been a plumber for about 50 years and after a quick phone call in his direction I narrowed my search down to well, this one. The only thing he cautioned me on was to look at the old one before you replace it and make sure the new one has the same markings PSI etc etc, and other than that it's pretty easy. Shut off the water supply, relieve the pressure, unscrew the old one and with the use of a little bit of thread tape, screw this one on and snug it down. The whole repair took me about 4 minutes.

Valve itself was causing a slow leak. Threads were tight, but air and water was escaping through the 30psi rated valve, at 15psi.. absolutely no good, returning
