Initial impression - very nice pen. Light works well and is reasonably bright. Nit bright enough to replace all flashlights, but it's not meant to. It is plenty bright enough to find an exit or a circuit breaker. Bright enough for furst responders to use to check pupillary response. The pointy end near the light is aggressive enough for pressure point manipulation, which is my i bought it (I'm a cop). It uses commonly available ink refills, including Fisher space pen. Update: lightweight, fairly large in diameter. Light is functional, but not that bright. Pen feels very comfortable, writes very well. 10 out of 10, would buy again. I'd like to see one that is powered by AAA batteries or is USB rechargeable, with a brighter light.

Tactical pen arrived sooner than expected and in good shape, was not damaged. Found it to be better quality than expected. The pen writes well and feels very solid for a writing instrument. The LED on top of the pen works really well in a dark area or room where there is no lights on, just to take the pen out of my pocket to find or look for a light switch or door ,is so handy to have. Makes it safe just not to bang into anything or trip in the dark. I did not use the pen for the self defense part , but it definitely will hurt someone if needed to be used. I Work as a technician and sometimes I need to work in panels which are dimly lit and my tactical pen with LED comes in handy ,also when I get people to sign paperwork they find that its also a cool pen to have. All the other techs and electricians I work with in buildings ask me where I purchased it so they could order it themselves on Amazon, would definitely recommend this product. Solid,good quality and comes with an extra battery and pen Ink refill. .

I liked the pen enough to buy another one. It's a LARGE pen so keep that in mind, and I really like it however the only down side is that the light seems to get turned on accidentally and kills the battery life, hence the four stars rather than five. This may or may not be an issue depending on how your pen is carried, for me I feel the light switch could be a tad bit more protected to stop this problem. Still, an excellent pen for every day carry, buy one.

Well made writes good and came with an extra cartridge

Flashlight is just enough amount of light when you need to illuminate about four feet out. Pen has a solid feel to it, yet not too heavy. Good writing quality. Good, durable pen and flashlight combo. One year later - update Pen now has nice patina after a year of daily use/carry. Went through three refills. Had to tighten the clip screws. Very happy with this pen!

I was pleased to find out how thick the product was upon receiving it as i have very large hands and I can actually use the pen function at work. I was impressed to receive a pre delivery email from the company making sure the product arrived in a timely manner and the packaging in good condition which it did. I was also pleased with quality of the pen insert as i use it professionally. I was impressed with the crown on the pen, if it were needed for self defense it has multiple edges carefully machined to perfection and would make anyone think twice about coming back at you a second time once used !!! I was grateful to receive a quality backup pen and 3 replacement batteries ensuring ling term use of the product. The flashlight is much brighter than expected and the on/off button is also of a good quality. When I've purchased similar products in the past the flashlight would go on in your pocket or backpack and by the time you found out the batteries would be dead but this product has a very deliberate on/off finction making that scenario highly unlikely. The only reservation I have about the product is that the orientation of the flashlight is off center when lit but the flashlight is surprisingly bright and useful as i work night shift and has come in very handy several times. I would definitely recommend this product for personal use or as a gift.

Of my tactical pens this is my favorite for daily carry. It is the only one I've found that writes from the front like a normal pen and also has a flashlight. For my job in tool repair it comes in extremely handy and is also very durable. Although I do have more confidence in the single point glass breaking option on other pens and I also like that many other tactical pens have some sort of handy tool inside as well like a screw driver and can opener, all those pens that I have seen you have to completely screw off the back half and hold it or keep track of it while you write. I hate that for daily use. Who has the time LOL. I like to leave those pens around in places they could be handy occasionally or in an emergency. This is the one I will carry everywhere.

I purchased the product for my EDC bag. I was looking for a durable and multi functional pen. The pen arrived and it appears to be of decent quality. The top of the pen had a glass breaker and combination self defense-like crown, not very sharp, but could do damage to a person if used right. The position of the flashlight crystal was just inside the glass breaker, not a good place for it, because it will easily shatter if the top of the pen was used as a weapon or to break glass; it’s only recessed about 1 mm.
