This is sufficient for an attractive natural drape effect on most fireplaces. Screens also have a series of 1/2" rings and include a pair of Cool Grip black screen pulls at no extra charge. Screen packages DO NOT include hanging rods. Sold separately on Amazon is our NEW Rod and Valance Kits - one that extends to 48 inches and another that extends to 60 inches. HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT SCREEN: A. If you have an existing mesh screen on your fireplace simply measure the height and width of the screen. When sizing your screen, remember to allow for ½ inch hanger rings below the rod (hanger rings are NOT included in the height measurement of Condar screens). B. If you do not already have an existing mesh screen first determine how a new screen will hang from your fireplace. Does your fireplace already have a screen rod installed? If not, it is recommended that you consider purchasing a Condar Fireplace Rod and Valance Kit (see our separate listings for a 48" kit or a 60" kit). If you already have a rod installed, measure the height of your fireplace opening in inches. Allow 1/2 inch for the hanger ring below the rod, and approximately 1/8 inch clearance at the bottom. IMPORTANT: If the width of your fireplace opening is GREATER than 40 inches, you may need a custom-fabricated fireplace screen to achieve a natural drape and sufficient overlap that most homeowners prefer and find attractive. If the height of your fireplace opening is TALLER than 36 inches, you will need a custom-fabricated fireplace screen.
