There is a jumper that controls whether you want to power on your pi via the button (holding down for 2 seconds) on the hat or by removing the jumper it instantly powers the pi on as soon as there is a poe switch/injector connected to it.Pro's:1. Works with any pi with the longer gpio, regardless of whether it has the 4 pin poe header.2. Onboard button and jumper controls whether you want to power the pi on by a button or as soon as the hat receives power3. Gpio header is extended so you can connect any additional hat or anything else to the gpio pins.Cons:1. Costs nearly double the official poe hat2. The official poe hat has a built in fan to cool the pi (heatsink not included) which this HAT does not have, it also potentially restricts cooling as it covers the cpu (although it's high enough above the pi for heatsinks to be installed. And a fan could be placed on the side.3. Has an additional pair of ethernet ports and short cable which plugs into the pi's ethernet port which adds bulk and weight and prevents the use of a case. The official poe hat is very slim and there is an official case for it and no additional ethernet ports or cables are required. I also cannot fit a pi with this HAT in a stacked cluster case with standoffs as I'd require longer standoffs than those supplied with most cluster case kits.Overall for what I am doing this HAT does the job. But for newer pi's with the 4 pin poe header (3B+ & 4) i recomend the official one.Note: the supplied cable that connects from the poe hat to the pi's ethernet port is too short for the pi 4 as the ethernet port is now on the opposite side on the pi 4.
