I used them for auto closure of small landing gear doors. **Q: Do they slap the door?** A: Not sure i understand. They attach to the door so they are in constant contact with them. So they won't slap it. For my use it was a small door 8x12" of 3/4 mdf. 1 spring hinge and 1 normal was enough to auto open.
