Was warned possible problems later. Now very active 70 yrs,. Horrified when knee joint kept buckling. Then pain at front and back. Bought very expensive supports. They slipped. They curled up and down. They made legs swell. Read reviews about this and thought for so little money, nothing to lose. Sooo pleased I tried this. Am five foot six female. Weigh 11stone 9lbs (reducing due to knee). Purchased large. At first thought too tight, but after wearing for two days realised it fitted perfectly, and the others, whilst somewhat effective, were not doing the job. Support is excellent. Pain relief whilst not gone is now beareable. Have bought another as not sure this can be washed. Behind the knee bags up.The plasticky type, at a guess 2 mm neoprene or less is uncomfortable next to skin. It is only a short time before the area covered will become sweaty next to as skin.Sweaty cheap thin neoprene with poor strapping and an over baggy area equals movement. This can cause chaffing and irritation.A possible shirt term solution is to wear over a stocking type tube bandage.This marerial does not wash well which does not in turn work well one sweaty.It will only e a matter of a small length of time, if used daily during typical working hours that this will stretch and become even more unreliableHad I been aware of the thin issue I would not ave bought it. I can barely give it a three star rating based upon the assumption of a short term use which is the probable use period of the majority of users. That and occasional much shorter uses. By that I mean no more than two weeks.I make this review based on my opinions gleaned through decades of experiences in a professional occupation, as a consumer, property owner and raising a family.I hope that this review has been of assistance to you. It is very tight though, and although i have quite muscualr legs, i think the XL may have been better.
