When I saw the price, I took apart a free advertisement pen and took the spring from it. Now my pen is working like new again and I go on just loving it! Fifty years’ service can’t be bad!!!! Review: Not worth the high ticket price. - The external coating easily comes off just like other reviewers have said. I personally found the internal mechanism to be durable. It takes standard Fisher refills which are very expensive but good and the essence of what this pen is all about. I bought two and mine came in a well made plastic presentation cases. The first pen unfortunately stopped writing after a couple of weeks. I contacted AMAZON and within a few days he had a new one.
