## Description

Bushcraft Satchel is our general purpose field bag. May be used as a carry-all for one-day outing, or for every day urban activities. Extremely capacious. Main chamber comprises a zippered mesh pocket for valuable items plus two elastic drawstring pockets, e.g. water bottle holders. On the outside the bag has a large zippered pocket and two open pockets. MOLLE/PALS panels at the sides and bottom loops allow to attach additional pouches and items. Compression straps allow size adjustment.

Review: I like this a lot - I like this a lot. Good sturdy material, strong zips that 'hide' to aid with water resistance and a massive capacity when all is considered. It won't go bushcrafting until summer but of course the first thing I did when it arrived was load it up and it will keep me going for at least a day and a night if I use the straps underneath for my sleeping bag. The outer sealed pockets are pretty much the perfect size for a Mora companion, there are two unsealed pockets if an axe is your thing and there is plenty of scope to add additional pouches. Not really for taking to work if you are suited and booted, but otherwise very good in the city. Its lack of rigidity means that if you are carrying, say, a water bottle, gravity works in your favour pulling straight down rather than to one side and makes it very comfortable. I have nothing bad to say about this bag. There is a proper video out there (try H H's site) which you might find interesting.
Review: Excellent - Top marks to Helikon-Tex, this is an excellent bag. There are a ton of colours to chose from, I have Olive and it looks great. The Molle system makes it expandable too, I bought a couple of pouches for either end (phone, glasses etc.) and an insert. The bag itself is very capacious, with two massive internal water bottle holders at either end. Check out the reviews on YouTube to get a better idea. There are no hard sides or base, so the bag folds flat and also rides flat against the body when it is empty. This makes it very comfortable to carry when mostly empty, and also very lightweight. The main strap is robust too, even though it has two clips to attach it to the bag which at first glance might appear to be weak points – they are not. I carry a Boona Waterproof camera pouch inside the bag to keep my camera tech safe, otherwise things tend to rattle around a bit. The bag itself can carry a lot, perhaps more than is comfortable for my shoulder to carry, but on an “every day” outing, the bag itself is ideal and looks awesome.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Would this bag be good for daily work life? Like carrying planners/schedules, documents, ect?**
A: I use mine for work carrying a notepad, planner, iPad, and other essentials, so yes, it can be used for that. One thing to keep in mind is that the bag is soft. When empty, it will collapse. The photos show the bag upright, but the only way the bag will stand like that is if it is full. The fabric seems sturdy and durable, but is not stiff at all.

**Q: I love my bag. A small critter chewed through the main zipper on 1st trip. Im heart broken. Any way to have repaired? Ive only had it a few months.**
A: If the zipper is the only part that was damaged, have it replaced. Ask at alterations shops whether they can sew in a new zipper.

**Q: A design flaw?: no top flap (just an exposed zipper). Has anyone actually used this bag in a day of hiking in the rain?**
A: No design flaw here! This is my EDC bag and it doesn’t show any sign of wear and tear after everyday use. If your worried about rain water getting thru the zippers, don’t, this bag is roomy and tough. I haven’t submerged it by any means, but I have been in the rain—dry.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the bag (L, W, D)?**
A: L 16-17" - W 7" - H 12" it's a nice extra medium sized bag

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A useful bag with many uses.
*by A***! on 12 August 2018*

This is a well made bag and while it does not have a mass of different compartments and pockets it works really well for me. The bag is comfortable to wear and you can fit a surprising amount of stuff inside it. I particularly like the two internal pockets designed for holding litre water bottles etc upright, on either side of the main compartment. The small side pockets are useful for carrying tools such as knives or multi tools, the ones with the unstitched bottom for items that can be threaded through such as hatchets. Not something I carry on a work day! Works very well as an everyday messenger bag, especially for those who like EDC. Should be useful for day hikes too.
