However, the system can not record directly to CD. You would have to use the usb or memory card to create an audio CD using a computer with a CD burner, or other CD read/write device. **Q: How good are the speakers for CD playback and turntable playback?** A: The speakers, at 5-1/2 x 9 x 5 deep, are fairly good. Reasonable fidelity, handles higher volume, um, okay. These are not concert-grade speakers, but they do quite nicely in 15 x 22 room with paneled walls and hardwood floor (my rec. room). Many (!) years ago I had a set of $1,500 Boston Acoustics speakers that would make the neighbors - the next street over - complain, but these won't blast that loud.
