Thank you!** A: The first one we received the mirror was scratched. After notifying the company, they promptly sent one in mint condition. It does stand perpendicular to the base. **Q: Can this be used for the foot as well?** A: Although we've only used it for the hand, I think it might work on the foot IF the person is agile enough to bend over and look into the mirror while seated on the floor or bed with the affected foot behind the mirror.
