I noticed this once but it was because there was dust on the floor so the rubber couldn't grip properly. I wiped off the stopper with a little water and it was back to working fine again!

Very useful device... I bought them for a pair of patio doors that kept blowing closed and I did not want to start screwing on latches so they are perfect and fit in a number of ways without causing any damage or trapped fingers!
