Moen Smart Wireless Soil Sensors pair with the Moen Smart Sprinkler Controller to intelligently optimize and completely automate inground home irrigation systems. By monitoring the moisture and temperature levels of the soil, the sensors ensure just the right amount of water is used—where and when it’s needed most—to ensure a healthy and lush landscape. Review: Works well so far; monitors soil level and VERY easy to attach to Moen sprinkler controller - I don't have automatic sprinklers yet but I have to Moen controller and a soil sensor. It makes knowing when I need to water so much easier. The app is pretty slick and installation took less than 5 minutes. Placing the sensor in the garden itself was easy but my soil is loose. These allow the sprinkler controller to know when to turn on as well (if you're using the Moen controller). Installation of the controller is extremely easy and the cover is magnetic. As long as you take pictures of your old sprinkler system, it should take less than 30 minutes. The app has worked well. I think this is a really cool product. If you don't have a sprinkler system, it's easy to purchase one. I am impressed and have already bought more sensors.

After 3 months of working with Moen support and not being able to get the controller to work properly, despite numerous attempts and short periods of time when it did work, I gave up on trying to make this system work for me. The Moen controller and associated app is very sophisticated, but I keep getting the same errors after a few days of successful operation. One error said it was Dec 31 1969, despite the fact that the manufacture date on the controller was 2013. Another recurring error was that I did not have the authority to log in due to an API issue. Unfortunately, I worked with Moen for months are past the desertcart Return date so I will eat the const of the controllers but return the now useless Soil Sensors thus a one star rating.

I don't have automatic sprinklers yet but I have to Moen controller and a soil sensor. It makes knowing when I need to water so much easier. These sensors only work with Moen smart irrigation controllers.
