They replaced it with a newer one. Mic works way better, but blind testing with several people, making two calls and switching cables between calls, (did not tell them I was switching) there were comments that voice clarity did drop marginally.In short, it's usable and I like that it's braided (I have cats and standard cables have to be put away whenever I'm not at the desk).Original post -- Mic was pretty bad. They were fifty bucks a pop, but they were worth it. Why? Because the 3.5mm cable has a male connector at both ends. When the time comes for it to die after a zillion plug/unplugins, instead of replacing the entire headset, you need only replace the cord with the likes of this one for just 5 to 10 bucks.
