Definitely a *hot* cut. Didn't hold a sharp edge, but used dull it works to cut hot mild steel. Will replace with something hard or install a hard edge in this when I'm using it more. ### ⭐ Does not hold up to light use. *by on Reviewed in the United States June 25, 2026* I have used this Hardy tool once so far. The first test was against 1/2" rebar. It did part the rod, but began dulling the wedge rapidly, even when the material being struck was 'orange hot'. I then tried to use this to create forks in some 1/4"x2" 1090 flat bar.
