I read several reviews that spoke about this not expanding to the size listed (24 x 48") and that it was a hassle to get it to expand because of the water, but I went ahead and purchased it because of the price. I am happy I did. Within an hour, the foam had mostly expanded to full-size without doing anything but leaving it out. I didn't add water as the instructions mentioned. By the next day, it had expanded to the full 24 x 48 inches. I recommend just leaving it out and not adding water. I will definitely purchase again if needed.
