My first effort long ago sounded like a Hoover, so I started looking more closely at specialized components. One of these products was the ZALMAN FLOWER which looked great as well as being quiet and effective. Ive always stuck to ZALMAN ever since, they make some the best, if not the best quiet coolers on the market. As long as you have good ventalation in my experience there will be no problems. My system at the moment is housed in a Thermaltake Mozart TX case, it has six fans, plus the CNPS10X which cools a E8400 O.C. to 3.56 MHZ. And its whisper quiet. I say this as I strayed from the path of air to water. The offender? Was the ECO COOLIT, the sound of the pump sounded like a skeleton doing something unseemly in a buscuit tin! For some people this is a minor irritation and not a problem, as Im used near silence I found it hard to live with and there was no advantage in having it. It lasted a month. ZALMAN RETURNS! And what a beast! A great product that looks good with a performance to match. Im sorry Zalman for ever doubting you. I deserve flogging. If you are looking at or are thinking of air cooling or even have an existing cooler that is noisy and just aint up to scratch, and you are just plain not satisfied with. Have a big enough case because this thing is BIG!
