The small size is big enough for them both to enjoy comfortably. I wanted something with a little height because as we know cats prefer to lie up higher. ( On your sofa's and beds if allowed) I wanted a bed they could sleep on together as they are brothers and have been raised together. This bed has been ideal. Initially the cats a little unsure but once I placed some blankets on top they loved it spending much time on it together. They both use it as id hoped and are so cute when they are snuggled up.
