Yes. I use my Nut Chopper as a First Process to get almonds down to a size that my coffee bean grinder can handle to finally get the almonds down to powder. But the kibble pieces will be small. At first you might not notice but on both sides of the chopper wheel, the front, if grinding with the right hand, the slots are smaller and so you will get a finer grind by turning forward with the right hand, but the back side of the chopper the slots are larger for a coarser chop. SO my guess is that this would be a good fit for you, but use it with your left hand turning the crank forward and that will probably give you a chop with very little powder. **Q: Has anyone used this on mesquite beans? "I should have more walnuts in my diet and less Gluten" sooo. This is great! Put the walnuts or whatever kind of nuts you want in the top. The crank indicates to turn in one way for fine chop and turn the other way for coarse chop. The you turn it (which is not the smoothest to do, but it is what it is) and the chopped nuts go into the holder below. Not as messy as me chopping with a knife and lots safer. I can chop twice as many nuts in the same time. ( I put them in my yogurt with blueberries.) It seems the nuts I refrigerated are a bit easier to chop. I have washed it in dishwasher top rack twice and it comes out fine. I am impressed with this! There are even measurements on the bottom cup so you can see how much you have chopped, for recipes. Turn the whole thing over, open the bottom lid and you can dump the nuts out easily. April 2026 Update... almost a year later, it has a crack in the base and I agree with others that you have to dig out the walnuts between blades. I haven't had any other parts break off, but I will try another brand. I only grind walnuts and pecans.
