I'm improvising cement board for skirting on a manufactured home I'm working on. I looked high and low for a tool that would pre-drill and countersink as I want it to look finished once the #10 gray poly screws are sunk. I can't imagine why it wouldn't work but it is an expensive bit $$$ Good Luck **Q: What size and type of screw did you use to secure the Hardiboard after using this tool?** A: This product is a bit expensive, but does an excellent job. In my case I used 3/16 inch Tapcons to secure half inch Hardi-board. The countersink was a bit more than 1/16 inch below the surface. I had no problems with any of the Tapcons pulling through the countersink hole. Makes a nice clean insulation that can even be used in place of wallboard for a weeping cinder block wall. Glad I paid the relatively high price! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This bit works, made well. *by J***8 on 25 April 2023* I know tools and I know once I see them that it will be crap or great. This bit worked so well. I’ve drilled 6 counter sunk holes per hardie board plank, times that by 200 plus planks, and I didn’t have to change the mason bit at all. That’s over 1200 countersunk holes. Very pleased with this purchase. Also they send spare mason bits anyway. How awesome.
