They are so easy to open, you just slide them up from the part that has the whole to clip the lanyard. The plastic is VERY durable, and holds upwell. Example...one of our guys accidentally had his badge fall on a job site. The badge was run over...yes, you read that right...run over by an excavator! The black plastic and clear plastic did not crack. It was scrapped up, but NOT broken. I would definitely recommend. We have purchased so many more...as I have a feeling we will need more.
