I ordered these in a 1 short and I love the material, the cut, the design, BUT unless you are a hippy girl (I am composed of a more athletic build), you may want to order a size down. I realize they are supposed to ride on your hips, but the amount of room they have dedicated to size 1 hips seems excessive-- even with a belt, there is too much material bunched up at the waistband. I ordered according to Levi's online sizing chart, which I should have totally ignored-- I measured both waist and hips and I will definitely be returning these for a 0 short, though their chart indicates I am well within the size 1 category. Based on the elastene component (99% cotton, 1% elastene), I do not expect them to shrink in the wash-- they would definitely stretch a bit, so if you are in-between sizes, go down, not up. For sizing knowledge, I am 5'2", 110 lbs.UPDATE: Got the size 0 short yesterday. Much better waist/hips fit-- will probably keep these ALTHOUGH I am unhappy about the styling a bit. I ordered the darker finish (unlike last time), and that color has "styling" which puts two holes in the jeans-- small ones, but still-- one on front pocket, one on back. Please STOP making jeans with holes in them, for crying out loud!!! This is not visible from the photos online, so I am a bit perturbed. I realize these are JUNIOR jeans and that is somewhat of a fashion in that department, but due to my small size, I cannot wear WOMEN'S jeans, so I am forced to endure the whims of junior fashion, despite the fact that my age does not end with "teen" or begin with "twenty."I did not take off any stars, because hole factor aside, I like them. The jeans resembles a little bit the Levi 519 I used to have. Shipping was good and fast (I live overseas). ONE MINUS HOWEVER: I first had ordered the Railer-colored 518, which had a 2 inch white spot on one of the pockets, as well as another spot on the back of the jeans, kind of like if you had worn it before for a while. As I usually don't mind my jeans a little worn-looking, I didn't mind, but I think if you order and pay for a NEW pair of jeans, it also should look new, especially if these spots are not shown on the advertising photo. As I liked the jeans otherwise (and needed some in this specific cut), I ordered a second "Levi Railer 518", which came again with these worn out spots, in slightly different areas! This made me think that the spots are not intended and that the jeans may be stored wrong.In the same order I had 3 more jeans of the same cut, just different colors: "Valley Blues" which were nice, the black jeans, which were nice too, and the "Crystal Blue"-- which had no hem on the bottom of both legs! Needless to say that after the first wash, the ends of the legs were all coming lose. (As I live overseas in Africa, it would have been too much of a pain to return all the faulty jeans, so I kept them.) I had to go to the tailor to have hems sown onto the "Crystal Blue" jeans, which in turn made them a little shorter now (but still wearable).All in all: the jeans itself are nice, but could be much better i.e. from another seller/factory, if they wouldn't have any faults in them. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars The Right Jeans For Me *by A***B on Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2015* I am 5'5" tall and weigh 108#. I usually wear a size 2 misses jean. A 31" inseam works. In size 2 misses the inseam is usually too long and the seat is not a neat fit (looks somewhat loose where the seat joins the thigh). I was not certain about ordering the Levi 518 in size 5 junior but based on the information provided thought it may come close. I was pleasantly surprised. I hate returning merchandise. Why did I not know this before? This jean fit is a comfortable right for me. The cotton/elastane blend provides adequate stretch when stooping and the waist stays put. I have laundered them once. I clipped the waist on a hanger to air dry. Just to be safe about the fit, I put them on for a few minutes before the jeans were completely dry. They did not shrink. They remained "jeans soft". They don't draw attention (love the simple stitching on the pockets). Be careful with the shallow pockets (I put my car key in my purse). They are simply well done classic jeans. The boot cut is flattering. Yes, I will look to Levis for my next jeans purchase.
